Poets, novelists and literary active expats had the opportunity to present their works and literary style to the public at the Daruvar Literature Night, which was organised by the NVI Publishing Board Unit of the Czechs Association. The event took place in the entry foyer of the Czechs Association on the 16th May 2012 The event held in Daruvar was organised in the form of a meeting of expat authors, who regularly publish in Studnice, Český lidový kalendář magazines and publish their literary works in other publications. Karel Blaha, Mírko Knížek, Alena Raisová, Věra Vystydová, Libuše Stráníková, Monika Veltruská, Lenka Janotová, Táňa Novotná and Jiřinka Brkićová presented their poetical opuses, while Vlasta Pilátová read her yet unpublished autobiographical short story written in her typical style, Mato Pejić read lyrical translations of works by Czech poets and singer-songwriters, a Czech teacher Jindřich Krous presented his travelogue from South America and another Czech teacher, Luděk Korbel, read from the poetry of Lusatian Serbians. Among others Karel Jaromír Erben, Josef Škvorecký, Miloslav Bureš, Vítězslav Nezval and a Daruvar native Luka Šteković were mentioned during the part of evening dedicated to the Czech and Croatian literature. The most often mentioned expat authors were Jaroslav Koleška, Lýdie Lacinová, Ruda Turek, Jiřina Staňová and Jindřich Staňa.
