The rich history of the hotel goes as far as the times of Maria Theresa, when an inn called K trom zeleným stromom stood on the site of the current hotel. Following a great reconstruction carried on in the mid-1920s, it became the largest hotel in Central Europe. Over the times, it had fallen into disrepair until its new opening under the name Carlton Radisson SAS Hotel in 2001.
