The author lets us look into his childhood, soul and cockpit, yet the main speakers here are those, who shared with him almost everything: his colleagues, frustrated rivals, devoted stand-bys, strict scientists and ingenious constructors, who were all „cleared out“ mercilessly by the Soviet dictatorship.
