In 1848 a foundation stone was laid for the new synagogue situated outside the regularly flooded Jewish ghetto. During the Protectorate the Nazis turned it into a warehouse of the confiscated Jewish possessions, under the Communist regime it served as a warehouse of the former Liben theatre.
