The literature evening “Jaroslav Seifert et Prague” will take place in the hall of the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic to the European Union in Brussels, which is located near the centre of Brussels in a cosmopolitan environment of the capital of the European Union and Belgium next to the building of the European Parliament.

Jaroslav Seifert was the sole Czech literature writer to be awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature. His fate epitomizes the fate of the Czech nation since the establishment of Czechoslovakia until the final phase of the communist regime. The lecture will be mainly stemming from French translations of the poem cycles.
