Robert Menasse: Don Juan de la Mancha or Training for Delight

Translation: K. Széherová

A novel of a contemporary Austrian prose-writer is a chronicle of a generation making appearance by the end of the sixties of the 20th century. Nathan, in his fifties, an editor of a lifestyle magazine, is reminiscing of his childhood and youth. His reminiscences are mingled with the present, bringing him a middle-age crisis. In his non-conformity he is half a seducer Don Juan and half a little fool Don Quijote.
