A functionalist National House of the architect Emil Belluš – hotel and theatre. Plays and operas were performed here by the Municipal Theatre Society. Today the opera of Jozef Gregor Tajovský Theatre makes use of the stage. Lucia Poppová, Edita Gruberová, Sergej Kopčák, Ľubica Orgonášová, Babjakovci, these are only some of the names, who have made this stage famous. The café was a legendary meeting place of artists and prominent personalities of the public life of the past times.
