One of the most famous novels by Bohumil Hrabal tells a story about a beautiful wife of a brewery custodian, their distinctive uncle Pepin and about life in a small town of Nymburk during the times of major industrial discoveries.

Harlekynovi miliony is the last part of the so called Nymburk trilogy which depicts Hrabal’s family as a part of which we see a charming mother, a slightly eccentric father and uncle Pepin. We meet them in their old age deprived from their former joys and concerns alike. Touched, we follow them in an entirely different world into which they retired.

Hrabal’s Krasosmutnění is in the same manner as the previous prose Postřižiny a poetic return to the time of youth and prime.

Hrabal’s Dopisy Dubence is a torrent of memories interconnected with philosophical deliberations and commentaries.
