Bohumil Hrabal: Harlekýnovy miliony/ Harlekins millioner

Translation: Mats Larsson

Harlekynovi miliony is the last part of the so called Nymburk trilogy which depicts Hrabal’s family as a part of which we see a charming mother, a slightly eccentric father and uncle Pepin. We meet them in their old age deprived from their former joys and concerns alike. Touched, we follow them in an entirely different world into which they retired.

Bomunil Hrabal: Krasosmutnění / Den ljuva sorgen

Translation: Mats Larsson

Hrabal’s Krasosmutnění is in the same manner as the previous prose Postřižiny a poetic return to the time of youth and prime.

Bohumil Hrabal: Letters to Dubenka/ Dopisy Dubence

Translation: Mats Larsson

Hrabal’s Dopisy Dubence is a torrent of memories interconnected with philosophical deliberations and commentaries.
