The layout of the Literature Night 2010 of the eastern region of Slovakia is an unconventional attempt to get the public acquainted with Slovak and Czech literature. Apart from the Czech Centres in Košice the project has been officially supported by the French Alliance in Košice and as a result the readings will be followed by an illustration of French production represented by Emmanuel Carrére’s novel “Iné životy ako moj ”.

Priority is given to literature in translation, i.e. Czech translations of Slovak authors and Slovakian translations of Czech authors. From the pieces mentioned above this year’s Literature Night will also be dedicated to the jubilee of Karel Hynek Macha.

The project will be furthermore joined by municipal libraries Trebišov, Michalovice, Poprad, Stará Lubovňa, Rožňava and Prešov.
