Bratislava

12th of May 2010, 18.00-23.00

Ten Slovakian personalities will be reading European literature at ten attractive venues in Bratislava.

Readings will take place from 18:00 concurrently at all venues in regular intervals of 30 minutes.

Czech Centre Bratislava in cooperation with the Representation of the European Commission in Slovakia, under the auspices of Andrej Durkovský, mayor of the city of Bratislava, and along with other international, cultural institutes associated in the EUNIC cluster have organised a display of contemporary European prose in recent Slovak translations for this year’s Literature Night.

Cultural institutes of Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, France, Hungary, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Austria and the United Kingdom have taken part in the Literature Night 2010.

The readings will take place at attractive locations which are not opened to the general public under usual circumstances. The Czech Centre together with the Representation of the European Commission in Slovakia and its Department for Multilingualism will put in place an attractive information stall where visitors will be able to find various publications about the European Union and its institutions, rights of EU citizens as well as career and travel opportunities. Here you will also find a range of literature dedicated to multilingualism - a true speciality of the European Union.
